Liquid Driver users can easily bridge their assets from other networks such as Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain (BSC) Network to Fantom Opera Network and vice versa using Metamask. This feature allows for the move and use of supported Fantom assets via the Liquid Driver platform.

You are not limited to only moving your assets from Ethereum and the BSC network. Other bridges allow you to move your assets from Polygon to Fantom.

Before stepping into the tutorial, let us overview what a blockchain bridge is and what it means to bridge your assets on the blockchain.

A blockchain bridge is simply a connection used to transfer assets and tokens from one blockchain network to another.

There are many benefits of using a bridge. For example, Ethereum requires a high gas fee, has slower transactions, and may have a poor user interface during congestion and increased traffic on the network.

By using a bridge, users can send their tokens to another blockchain network, such as the Fantom Network, which is much faster and requires less gas fees, resulting in a better user experience. Another benefit of using a blockchain bridge is that both networks become less congested, leaving room for scalability.

However, because of the limitations individual blockchains possess, such as those mentioned above, the need for cross-chain composability has risen — basically, a concept that will eventually remove the barrier that an individual blockchain places on users.

So what exactly is cross-chain composability?.

This concept allows the various parts of blockchain networks to connect seamlessly to meet a new use case requirement. Cross-chain composability opens up a whole new level of possibilities in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) because it will bring down the barriers between blockchain networks.

By leveraging this concept and creating unison between these various DeFi protocols, developers can open up a vast array of opportunities that can bring about entirely innovations into the DeFi space. We believe this is going to be a game-changer for DeFi.

Here are some of the benefits this brings to users

  • Users can manage tokens that are native to multiple blockchains networks from one place.
  • With cross-chain composability, users can now bypass the need for third parties and cut out transactional costs. This feature allows users to move their assets from one blockchain network to another without verification, thereby cutting out transaction costs involved in the process.
  • The concept also adds access to shared data, where there is a free flow of information between networks, providing a glimpse of the future of cross-chain composability.

We have a basic understanding of what a blockchain bridge is and the concept of cross-chain composability, plus its benefits. Let us get into how we can practically bridge our assets using Liquid Driver.

This step-by-step tutorial will teach you how to bridge your assets to the Fantom network via Liquid Driver and the benefits of bridging to the Fantom network.

We have split the tutorial into two sections. The first section explains step-by-step how you can bridge your assets from BSC or ETH to Fantom using SpookySwap. The second section breaks down how you can bridge your assets from Polygon to Fantom using xPollinate.

Okay, enough with the introduction. Let’s take a deep dive into the tutorial.

SECTION ONE: How to Bridge from BSC or ETH to Fantom using SpookySwap.

STEP 1: CONNECT METAMASK TO FANTOM NETWORK

STEP 2: CONNECT TO THE FANTOM NETWORK

If you followed the steps in the link provided in Step 1, your Metamask wallet should be automatically connected to the Fantom network. If that didn’t happen, select “Fantom Opera” from the list of networks on Metamask.

STEP 3: BRIDGE YOUR ASSETS USING SPOOKYSWAP

  • Once the Metamask setup is done, head over to the Liquid Driver website. https://www.liquiddriver.finance/
  • On the Side Menu Bar, click on “bridge,” which will redirect you to the SpookySwap page, where you can bridge your assets.
  • Click on the drop-down menu to select the network you want to bridge from and select the blockchain network you want to bridge your assets or tokens to. On the drop-down menu, you can bridge from BSC/ETH to FTM and from FTM to BSC/ETH.
  • Next, click on “select Token” to select the token you want to bridge.
  • Input the desired amount of tokens you want to bridge.
  • Make sure that the network connected to your MetaMask wallet is the network you want to bridge from. If this is not the case, click on “Click here to switch” to switch to the network your tokens are connected to. This will prompt metamask to pop up the network menu, allowing you to select the necessary network.
  • Finally, click on the “Bridge token” button to bridge your tokens, and voila! Your tokens have been bridged. Easy right?

Current ETH — FTM Bridge Supported Tokens:

  • FTM, USDC, wETH, AAVE, BADGER, BAND, COVER, CREAM, CRV, DAI, FRAX, USDT, FXS, GTON, ICE, LINK, MM, SNX, SUSHI, wBTC, WOOFY, YFI

Current BSC -FTM Bridge Supported Tokens:

  • BNB, BIFI, BUSD

It is essential to know that bridging your tokens from the Fantom network to other EVM networks requires less and almost no-gas fees, but bridging from Ethereum to Fantom network requires you to pay gas fees on ETH, which can be pretty expensive. Users can also enjoy high-speed transactions on the Fantom network.

SECTION TWO: How to Bridge from Polygon to Fantom using xPollinate.

xPollinate is a cross-chain bridge that allows users to swap their assets (Stablecoins) between different networks; It supports USDC, USDT, and DAI.

To bridge from Polygon to Fantom:

STEP 1: Select the xPollinate bridge option from the Side Menu on Liquid Driver.

STEP 2: Connect your wallet using Metamask.

  • On the xPollinate website, click on “connect wallet” to connect your Metamask wallet.
  • After connecting your wallet, input the desired amount of assets you want to bridge.
  • Select the Polygon network from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the desired stablecoins you want to bridge from.
  • Next, select the “Fantom” as the network you want to bridge to.
  • Select the Stablecoins you are bridging to, from the drop-down menu
  • Finally, click “Change Chain,” then sign the transaction — and that’s it, your assets have been bridged

Ensure that the amount of assets you entered into the bridge is not less than the amount in your wallet.

Time to Bridge

Bridging your assets is a relatively simple process that you can leverage to move your assets across chains and explore the full experience of DeFi. Follow these steps for a smooth bridging journey, and hit us up on our Discord if you need more help with the process.
